Volunteers Are A Vital Part Of The CCAS

The CCAS is in the process of establishing an official volunteer program for the Canines 'N Cats Adoption Station and eventually the Christian County Animal Shelter.

Volunteers assist the Canine's 'N Cats Adoption Station by walking dogs, cleaning cages, grooming animals, socializing cats, kittens and puppies and assisting where needed. Volunteers can also become Foster Parents for animals that have not yet been adopted. A Foster Parent's commitment can be anywhere from 2 - 10 weeks.

Volunteers will become very important to the animals at CCAS and vital to helping the CCAS achieve our goals.

Once the shelter is built you have the same option (now available at the Canine's 'N Cats Adoption Station) of spending as little as 6 hours a month helping out at the shelter, or everyday! We can always use the help.

Helping The CCAS As A Volunteer

When the CCAS shelter is becomes operational, it will be bustling with activity. We will be seeking volunteer assistance in the following areas:

• Volunteers to help with continued fund raising activities for shelter operations.
• Dog Kennel and Cat Cage maintenance/cleaning
• Dog Walkers (the dogs LOVE this part!)
• Foster Parent, housing animals while the CCAS looks for a permanent home.
• Volunteers to play and socialize with the animals (the cats appreciate this special one on one time!)
• Volunteers to teach basic commands to the dogs
• Anyone with skills to assist us with interior and exterior maintanence.
• Transportation: We can always use more volunteers to help with the transportation of supplies and donations. We also need volunteers who are available in the morning or afternoon to take animals to and from the vets or other facilities.
• Junior Volunteers: We will establish a program for youths 16 and under. They must be accompanied by a parent. Youths 16-18 years old must volunteer when another volunteer or adult is present.
