Don Alday holds a BS in Engineering Management from the University of Rolla, MO. He was a former Board member and Vice-President of the Southwest Missouri Humane Society. He shares his Ozark home with his wife, six dogs, one cat, one horse & a donkey. He has been on the CCAS board of directors since January 2006.
KATHLEEN COPELAND
RECORDING SECRETARY
Kathleen Copeland's career included a floral designer and store manager for 11 years in Wichita, KS, restaurant manager for 5 years and owner of a bookstore for 2 years, and and worked as a bookkeeper/secretary for a Springfield HVAC company for 5 years. Now retired, she recently adopted a seven year old dachshund named Maggie from SWMO K-9 Rescue. Copeland and her husband moved to Christian County in 2004.
STEVE CASSON
PUBLIC RELATIONS/MEDIA
Steve P. Casson has a degree in Broadcast Journalism from Southwest Missouri State University (Missouri State) and has been involved in several aspects of the media from public relations to broadcasting. Steve owns websportsradio.com, a sports broadcasting company. He spent 15 years working with the Los Angeles Kings hockey team in media relations and has organized several hockey tournaments in Southern California. Steve has lived in Missouri for 7 years with four of those years in Christian County.
CONNIE FOSTER
SW/MO K-9 RESCUE/DIRECTOR
Connie Foster is a retired elementary school teacher. After thirty years of working with children, she turned her efforts toward saving dogs. She and a friend founded SW MO K9s to rescue dogs from area pounds. They now have over 200 dogs and tirelessly work to place animals in loving forever homes. Their motto is "We are Making a Difference, One Dog at a Time."
DEBBIE GROB
CORRESPONDENCE SECRETARY
Debbie Grob was a business woman and cosmetologist for 30 years. In addition to running her own salon, she traveled and taught cutting edge hair coloring techniques to other cosmetologists for Scruples. She is now retired and resides in Highlandville with her husband, Dennis, and dog, Phoebe. All of her dogs have been strays or rescues. She has a passion for helping animals and making sure each one has the loving home it deserves.
MARY SPANSKI
DIRECTOR
Mary W. Spanski's credentials include a Bachelor of Science degree, Medical Technology, Marquette University, Subspecialty degree in Blood Banking, University of North Carolina, and a Bachelor of Arts degree, Art History, Oakland University, Rochester, MI. She worked with the Christian County Humane Society (now defunct) to build a shelter in Christian County from 1991-1992 and founded with her husband, the Animal Shelter League of the Ozarks, which attempted to build an animal shelter in Christian County from 1992-2002.
ANN OFFUT
DIRECTOR
Ann Offut previously worked in banking for 16 years as a loan secretary and personal loan officer. She presently is a homemaker and works as an election judge for Christian County. Ann and her husband Jim moved to Nixa 19 years ago. They presently are home to 28 Black Angus cattle, 3 ponies, 3 donkeys (2 adopted) and 5 adopted cats.
DR. RICHARD LINN / VETERINARIAN
VETERINARIAN CONSULTANT
Dr. Linn received his B.A. from University of Northen Iowa and his M.A. from Northeast Missouri State University. He received his D.V.M. from the University of Missouri in 1983. In his spare time he likes to run, cycle and read. He joined the C.C.A.S. Board of Directors in August 2005 until December 2007.

Matthew E. Searing, Esq. is a graduate of Washburn University School of Law and Pittsburg State University . He is currently employed as General Counsel for D.J. Roofing Supply, Inc. and is Legal Counsel for Christian County Animal Shelter. He has been a resident of Christian County for over 4 years.
